Canon CN-E 30-105 T2.8 PL Cinema Zoom

The Canon 30- 105 CN-E lens is a great compact zoom lens. In fact feels as well put together and producers images that you might expect from very high end cinema glass. It is designed to be used with super 35 or APS-C 4K or HD resolution cameras. It has a PL mount but can be used on other cameras like the Sony FS7 with an adapter. Because of it’s T2.8 fast max aperture it can be used in very low light situations. This is fixed throughout the zoom range so it won’t alter when you zoom in for a close shot. The bokeh (out of focus background) is very pleasant when shooting wide open helped by the 11 blade aperture. It has a very low minimum focal distance of 23.6″ (60cm) so this lens makes it possible for you to shoot tighter close-ups and allows you to shoot in small environments. The lens produces a sharp image that has slightly warm skin tones and of course it perfectly matches the range of Canon CN-E cinema primes but can also be used with many other lenses. A very underrated zoom lens from Canon.

It’s unique design on the internal optics have significantly minimised focus breathing making it better than your average zoom lenses for focus pulling, and has markings on angled surfaces on both sides of the barrel, making it easy to read settings from behind or from either side of the camera.
